**Please note that the original OEM shaft is an 5" Aluminum one piece shaft that for the purpose of the Remco is converted to a 3-1/2" .083 wall steel one piece**
The disconnect is comparable to a mechanical clutch, which is installed into the differential side of the driveshaft. When the disconnect is engaged, the rear axle is able to turn freely without affecting the drive shaft or transmission.
